Children's Dentistry

Your child's smile is precious and deserves gentle dental care of the highest quality. Led by Dr. Noah Rounds, our team has years of experience caring for small smiles, including toddlers, school-age children, and teenagers.

Our dental team genuinely loves working with kids and believes in the importance of establishing trusting relationships with our patients and their families. We take time to talk with each patient and get to know them personally. One of our favorite aspects of children's dentistry is seeing how our young patients grow into happy, healthy adults.

Our Children's Dentistry Services

At Lake Marion Dental Care, we start welcoming children to our dental office around age three. However, we can see kids sooner if their parents have particular concerns. From exams and cleanings to cavity prevention and dental fillings, we offer services that ensure your child's teeth and gums stay healthy and beautiful.

We offer the following children's dental services at Lake Marion Dental Care:

  • Dental exams and cleanings
  • Digital dental x-rays
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Sealants
  • Metal-free dental fillings
  • Patient education
  • Oral hygiene instruction
  • Emergency dental care

Whatever your child's oral health needs may be, Dr. Rounds and our team are here to help!

Our Approach to Children's Dentistry

Your child's health and wellness come first, and we will always be forthright and respectful when we recommend the appropriate dental care. We do not pressure children and their families into getting unnecessary dental treatment. We believe informing families on their child's dentistry needs helps them make educated decisions about their child's smile.

In addition to providing preventive dental care, we support children and their families by providing patient education. This can include brushing and flossing instruction, nutrition counseling, and habit counseling for thumb-sucking and pacifier use. Our team is always happy to help you and your little one better understand their oral health and care for their teeth and gums.

Your Child's Comfort Is Our Priority

Our friendly dental team strives to create an engaging and comfortable atmosphere for our patients. At Lake Marion Dental Care, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to attain a healthy and stunning smile in an accepting and safe atmosphere.

To make our dental office cozy for kids and their parents, we offer pillows, blankets, and televisions in our treatment rooms so you can see what the dentist sees.

We also use the TVs to show parents their child's teeth, gums, and oral structures to educate them on their child's oral health and treatment options. If your child needs extra help relaxing, we offer a mild, short-term sedative called nitrous oxide ("laughing gas").

Protective Fluoride and Sealants for Children

At Lake Marion Dental Care, we offer fluoride varnish to decrease cavity risk in children. Fluoride strengthens tooth enamel and helps control tooth sensitivity. We recommend children of certain ages use fluoride toothpaste to protect their primary and permanent teeth. The amount a child uses should first be discussed with your dentist, as some kids are too young to use fluoride.

A dental sealant acts as a tiny raincoat for your child's teeth and their chewing surfaces. Our dentist offers sealants as needed to repel bacteria and tooth decay.
